Description
Join Vinny Horvath for a fun beginner bird outing perfect for birdwatchers of any skill level as we visit one of Lake County’s notable birdwatching destinations! This bird outing is a medium-paced exploration of the Mentor Lagoons and Mentor Marsh with birds as the focus. The area we will be walking at has a variety of habitat which has the potential to attract a variety of bird species.
Directions
Turn onto Harbor Drive from Lakeshore Boulevard and follow the drive into the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve & Marina located at 8365 Harbor Drive. Park in the red brick parking lot. We will meet at the trailhead just north of the parking lot at 12:00 pm. Dress for the weather with comfortable shoes. The terrain is flat with fine gravel that turns into a natural non-paved path. Insect spray is recommended, and restrooms are available on site.
