Volunteer at the Headlands Birding Festival
Each year, volunteers make the Headlands Birding Festival possible by helping with registration, guiding bird walks, greeting visitors, and supporting events throughout the weekend. Volunteering is a great way to meet fellow nature lovers, learn more about birds, and contribute to a community event that celebrates conservation and outdoor discovery at Headlands Beach State Park.
The Festival needs volunteers for the following activities:
- Festival setup
- Festival tear-down
- Festival photographer
- Registration packet assembly
- Registration table
- Keynote check-in
- Pelagic check-in
- AV for Keynote and talk tents
- Talk tent moderators
- Leading (and co-leading) birding walks

Festival volunteers will receive the following:
- Free General Registration
- Free festival volunteer t-shirt
- Free entrance to the Saturday and Sunday talks
- Keynote check-in volunteers get free entrance to the keynote
